Croscombe School's 'Edible Garden'

Egg-to-Egg Project

Starting this spring, each year group will have one egg to keep an eye on. The year groups,  once the eggs have hatched (21 days ish), will help to care for their chicks and will learn what the chicks need to be able to grow into big healthy Chickens (hopefully all hens).

The chickens will live happily on our allotment space and will eventually go onto laying lots of lovely yummy eggs.....

Croscombe School's Edible Garden

Thanks to the 'Big Lottery Fund', we now have an amazing opportunity to create a space where the children can develop an understanding of food and where it comes from.

Our new space wont just be for showing the children where food comes from, the children will be the ones growing that food.

We will have space for a large greenhouse, lots of raised beds and growing space and also most excitingly, Chickens!

Your children will be able to learn how to grow plants from seed and then how to look after the crop to ensure it grows BIG and STRONG. Once the plant has grown to the point it can be harvested, our aim is to then teach your children what they can do with it, from making coleslaw to tasty pasta sauces.
